Welcome to SpecTec GmbH / IDEA VIO Software! Since 2001 we provide the shipping and yachting industry with software solutions for efficient vessel management. Our IDEA software suite is a dependable solution for various onboard technical and administrative management requirements. It provides the crew and shore management with a user-friendly and productive tool to meet the increasing demands brought on by new maritime regulations, such as the ISM and ISPS codes. In addition, it provides a means to manage the vessel’s daily tasks, leading to lower long-term operational costs and less crew time spent on administration.

our team

IDEA was created in 2001 by Klaus and Sebastian Allebrodt. Today, the software is in use on more than 500 motor and sailling yachts of up to 147m length. IDEA is installed as a standard by many of the most prestigious yacht builders in the world. In 2008 IDEA has been acquired by the SpecTec Group, the well-known creator and vendor of AMOS software suite. With installations on more than 8000 ships AMOS has been the market leading software in the commercial shipping industry for years. SpecTec has a total of 27 offices in 20 countries and a total number of 240 full-time employees. While AMOS will continue to be developed along the requirements of customers in the shipping, oil, gas and defense industries, IDEA is the main product for the yachting market.
